ENFor the Ninth Consecutive Year, Cayetano Heredia Is Peru’s No. 1 University in the THE World University Rankings 2027
Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia marks nine consecutive years as Peru’s No. 1 university in the THE World University Rankings 2027, one of the world’s leading international university rankings, recognized for its global scope and methodological rigor.
In the THE WUR 2027, our institution shares its ranking band with universities such as Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań (Poland), Adani Institute of Higher Education & Research (India), and AGH University of Krakow (Poland), among others. This edition assessed 2,297 institutions from 118 countries based on 17 indicators grouped into five dimensions: Teaching, Research Environment, Research Quality, International Outlook, and Industry.
This result reflects Cayetano Heredia’s continued progress. The university’s overall score increased from a range of 32.1–35.4 to 33.3–36.3, with notable improvements in the following indicators:
Research Quality: 61.2 → 63.7 (+2.5)
This remains the university’s strongest pillar and reflects the growing international impact and quality of its scientific output.
Research Environment: 16.1 → 17.3 (+1.2)
This indicator assesses the strength of the research environment. The increase reflects improvements in scientific productivity and in the conditions that support research.
This recognition comes as Cayetano Heredia celebrates 65 years of history and academic excellence. Since its foundation, research has been an essential part of the university’s identity and of the vision of its founders—a commitment that remains strong today and continues to shape its future.
