Dr. Stella Hartinger Represented Cayetano Heredia at the IPCC International Meeting on Climate Change

Dr. Stella Hartinger, epidemiologist and Co-Director of the Latin American Center of Excellence on Climate Change and Health (CLIMA), participated in the Second Lead Author Meeting (LAM2) of Working Group II of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). The meeting took place from May 18 to 22 in Nassau, Bahamas, as part of the preparation of the Seventh Assessment Report (AR7).
Dr. Hartinger serves as a Contributing Author for Chapter 19, which focuses on Health and Well-being. This chapter examines the impacts of climate change on population health and quality of life, while highlighting the need to strengthen evidence-based responses to the climate crisis.
She is also the only representative from Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia (UPCH) within the Peruvian delegation, which is composed of three specialists. Her contribution to the IPCC reflects the university’s commitment to advancing scientific knowledge and supporting evidence-based solutions to address the global climate crisis.
