ENCayetano Heredia Consolidates Its Position as Peru’s Top University and Ranks Among the Top 6.9% Worldwide in the CWUR
For the eighth consecutive year, Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia has been recognized as Peru’s top university in the Center for World University Rankings (CWUR) 2026. The university has been included in this prestigious international ranking since 2019 and continues to stand out for the quality of its academic and scientific performance.
In the 2026 edition, UPCH ranks 1,454th worldwide, placing it among the top 6.9% of universities globally, alongside internationally recognized institutions from Turkey, China, the United States, Japan, and many other countries. The university also achieved an Overall Score of 68.3 and a Research Rank of 1,399, reflecting the strength and impact of its scientific research.
Cayetano Heredia’s performance demonstrates sustained progress on the international stage. Between 2023 and 2026, the university climbed 67 positions in the global ranking. This achievement is particularly significant considering that more than 700 new institutions were incorporated into the evaluation during the same period.
Despite the continuous expansion of the number of institutions assessed, UPCH has successfully maintained and improved its global standing. These results reaffirm the university’s ability to compete among the world’s leading higher education institutions and reinforce its commitment to academic excellence and impactful research.
