On  December 20, the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia and the Asociación Misión Huascarán signed a Memorandum of Understanding that represents an important step towards the development of the country’s rural communities. This agreement creates valuable opportunities for students, teachers, and professionals to collaborate in the search for effective solutions to challenges in health and education, reinforcing the commitment of both institutions to the well-being of the most vulnerable populations.

In the field of health, this alliance will allow the development of a research protocol to evaluate the efficacy of the consumption of bread fortified with bovine hemoglobin in improving hemoglobin levels, contributing to the fight against anemia in the country. We will also strengthen the capacities of health personnel and community agents, strengthening their fundamental role in the prevention and care of this problem in the communities.

In education, we will focus on strengthening the competencies of teachers in public institutions through innovative approaches such as STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) and the development of emotional intelligence. These actions seek to improve the quality of education and promote the comprehensive development of students, providing them with the necessary tools to face the challenges of the future.

The agreement was signed by the president of the board of directors of the Asociación Misión Huascarán, Mr. Renzo Arboccó, and our rector, Dr. Enrique Castañeda. This act reaffirms Cayetano‘s commitment  to academic excellence, impact research and service to the community, values that consolidate us as an institution committed to the development and progress of the country.
