Exchange students 2025 begin their experience at Cayetano with a cultural and academic welcome

Cayetano Heredia welcomed national and international students who are joining its classrooms and clinical fields this semester with a ceremony full of art, symbolism, and intercultural spirit. The event highlighted the value of academic mobility as an opportunity for mutual growth, both for the students and for the university.

This year, our institution is receiving international students from Colombia, Spain, the United States, Italy, and Portugal, as well as national students from universities such as PUCP, Universidad de Lima, and Universidad Católica Santo Toribio de Mogrovejo.

The Welcome Ceremony for Incoming Students 2025 was held on Tuesday, 1 April 2025 at the Hernán Torres Auditorium on the Central Campus (San Martín de Porres), bringing together university authorities, academic staff, and students.

The event began with the screening of the video Welcome to Peru, followed by welcoming remarks an address by Mr Francesco Mencaroni, Director of Institutional Relations and Internationalisation. Afterwards, University President, Dr Enrique Castañeda, emphasised the value of student exchange as a transformative experience both academically and personally.

One of the most celebrated moments was the performance by the Cayetano Heredia Ensemble, which presented traditional Peruvian dances such as the zamacueca and the northern marinera, accompanied by live music that reinforced the spirit of integration.With this ceremony, our university reaffirms its commitment with internationalization to the international,training professionals and promoting academic and cultural exchange as an essential part of its global vision.
