Cayetano reaffirms its leadership in health and strengthens its international positioning in the THE WUR by Subject 2026

In a highly competitive international landscape, Cayetano Heredia has been ranked Peru’s No. 1 university in Medical and Health for the eighth consecutive year, according to the THE World University Rankings by Subject 2026. This recognition confirms the university’s academic leadership, the strength of its research, and its impact on population health and healthcare systems.
In this edition, Cayetano remains within the 601–800 global range, among more than 1,230 universities evaluated, demonstrating sustained performance in a highly competitive field dominated by institutions from the United States and Europe.
The ranking also highlights a significant improvement in Life Sciences, where the university advances to the 801–1000 global range, moving up from the 1001+ group in the previous year. This progress reflects the strengthening of key strategic pillars such as high-quality research, industry engagement, and international projection—essential drivers for the country’s scientific development.
These results are not the outcome of an isolated achievement but rather the result of a long-term vision. Cayetano continues to consolidate its position as a national benchmark in health sciences and as an academic institution with a growing presence on the global stage, reaffirming its commitment to generating rigorous, relevant, and impactful knowledge in service of Peru and the world.
