We are pleased to announce that thanks to an agreement managed by the Faculty of Science and Engineering, three students from Cayetano Heredia have obtained scholarships to participate in the intensive course Advanced Cardiac Physiology and Anatomy (PHSL 5510), organized by the Department of Integrative Biology and Physiology of the University of Minnesota.  In addition, the Student Mobility Support Fund is covering the flights of two of them.

The selected students are Melany Cama Bahamonde and Brenda Cárdenas Infantes, from Biomedical Engineering, and Camila Yayama Rosado, from Medicine. The choice was made through a rigorous internal competition organized by the University Directorate of Institutional Relations and Internationalization (Durin), whose objective is to offer our students valuable international academic opportunities.

Brenda Cárdenas shared her experience in the selection process with Cayetano 360, highlighting how clear and challenging it was. «You are mentally aware that they are going to ask you academic things or about your achievements, but in the end the interview was more about getting to know yourself and understanding how you are going to represent your university,» he said, reflecting the importance of motivation and personality in this type of opportunity. Naturally, academic performance and a good level of English were also taken into account for the selection.

For her part, Melany Cama expressed her gratitude for the support received from the university: «I consider it a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and this was the time to take it. I tell my colleagues to be attentive to these opportunities, that even if they are afraid, keep trying and do not give up.» Her testimony highlights the importance of taking advantage of every opportunity that presents itself in her formation. We are very proud of Melany, Brenda and Camila, and we wish them the greatest success in this important stage of their academic training. We ask our academic community to always be attentive to these scholarship options, which represent an invaluable opportunity to continue growing humanly and professionally, and to take the name of Cayetano Heredia to the international arena.
