«The contribution of universities to the development, innovation, research and training of advanced human capital» was the central theme of the 57th Board of Directors of the Interuniversity Development Center (CINDA), a network that brings together 38 Ibero-American universities and focuses on promoting and developing quality assurance in higher education.

Several outstanding lectures were held in the academic session, including those by Mr. Gonzalo Rivas, Chief of the Competitiveness, Technology and Innovation Division of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), and Ms. María Marta Ferreyra, Senior Economist in Global Knowledge and Innovation in Education at the World Bank (WB).

The Consortium of Universities was represented by the rectors of Cayetano Heredia, Dr. Enrique Castañeda; of the Universidad del Pacífico, Dr. Martha Chávez; of the University of Lima, Dr. Patricia Stuart; and of the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, Dr. Julio Del Valle.

On the other hand, Dr. Àngels Fitó, rector of the Open University of Catalonia (UOC), was elected as the new president of CINDA. In his speech, he highlighted the challenges faced by higher education institutions in an environment of global changes, underlining the need to adapt beyond the academic offer, promoting respect for diversity and inclusion in decision-making.

Active participation in high-level forums such as CINDA reaffirms our constant commitment to guarantee quality training, aligned with global challenges and the demands of the future.
