Cayetano Heredia participates in a roundtable to strengthen academic ties between Lima and Shanghai

With a firm commitment to strengthening academic cooperation, cultural exchange, and the training of multidisciplinary talent, on 9 May, we took part in a roundtable that brought together higher education institutions from Lima and Shanghai.
This important dialogue space included the Consortium of Universities —comprising our university along with PUCP, the Universidad del Pacífico, and the Universidad de Lima— as well as representatives from the Municipality of Shanghai, the Shanghai International Studies University, and Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
The meeting is part of the joint declaration signed in November 2024 between Peru and China, which reaffirms the mutual interest in promoting cooperation in areas such as science, education, and culture. As part of this effort, Shanghai —renowned for its leadership in innovation and openness— seeks to strengthen its ties with Lima, creating collaborative spaces that foster knowledge-sharing, joint research, and greater understanding between our academic communities.
Our delegation was composed of Dr Cristina Guerra, Director of the Consortium of Universities; Mag. Francesco Mencaroni, Director of Institutional and International Relations, and Lic. Óscar Del Águila and Lic. Denisse Jui, Director and Coordinator of the Language Centre, respectively.
At Cayetano Heredia University, we reaffirm our commitment to internationalised education, the development of strong academic networks, and the promotion of comprehensive cooperation between Peru and China in this new era.
