With the aim of strengthening a joint cooperation agenda in education, science, and health, the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia held a working meeting with representatives from the UNESCO Office in Peru.

The meeting, held on Wednesday, January 29, 2026, at UNESCO’s headquarters, provided an opportunity to discuss key areas of collaboration, including inclusive and barrier-free education, institutional commitment to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, international academic cooperation, and the promotion of initiatives with social impact.

Participants also discussed academic outreach in the field of health, the production of knowledge in strategic areas for sustainable development, and the strengthening of institutional capacities through an interinstitutional approach.

Another topic addressed was the promotion of women’s leadership in science, as well as the importance of encouraging STEM vocations—especially among girls and adolescents—as part of broader efforts to reduce gender gaps in the scientific field.

The meeting was attended by Enrique Castañeda Saldaña and Guiomar Alonso Cano. Also present were Francesco Mencaroni, along with Mónica Oliveros and Jaquelina Moscoso.

This meeting helped consolidate a space for institutional dialogue aimed at exploring future lines of cooperation, in alignment with the strategic priorities of the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia and UNESCO in Peru.
